Who takes part in the courses?
It’s usually a colourful mix of people with different experiences inside and outside the sex industry – a diverse combination of beginners, old hands, women and men, straight and queer, and people for whom such pigeonholes don’t fit.
The age range of participants is also diverse.
It’s important to us that all course participants come with an openness to the deviation from sexual and other norms, both in themselves and others. In general, previous experience is not expected. A couple of courses are reserved for sex-workers only – in these cases you’ll find this stated in the course description.
What are the prerequisites to participate?
You must be over 18 years old and pay the course fee in advance.

The maximum number of participants varies for each course.

Where is the studio?
Studio LUX is located in Tempelhof, at Tempelhofer Damm 145, 12099 Berlin. It’s in an Art Nouveau building comprised of doctor’s offices and residential apartments.
The studio is right above U-Bahn Alt-Tempelhof, or 600 metres from S+U-Bahn Tempelhof. BVG Timetable Information
There’s a Park’n’Ride space located at S+U-Bahn Tempelhof.
Our courses generally don’t have dress codes. It’s all about learning and practising, which is best done relaxed, in comfortable casual clothes. We do not have lockers or cupboards, as the atmosphere is very familiar and your things will find a place in the corner of the large course room. If you’d like to dress a little more ‘lusciously’, you’re free to change your outfit at the studio. We also have a shower if needed.
Do I need to bring anything?
This is different for every course. In general, any special requirements can be found in the course description. Otherwise, you’ll be informed by email after you’ve registered. It’s always advisable to bring something to write with, and to wear clothes you feel good in and can move easily in.
How intimate will it be?
This is always different and depends on the type of workshop and those taking part. Only very rarely, and only when all are in agreement, will there be full nudity and/or explicit sexual activity. In the Domina Basics Course for example, ‘jerking off’ techniques are part of the program and therefore involve the full nudity of the ‘practice sub’ and explicit sexual activity.
In courses where intimate sexual acts are part of the training program, this will be stated explicitly in the course description.
Can we come as a couple?
You’re welcome to register together with a friend or partner. For some, it can be very enriching to have this experience together as a couple. Others may find it more interesting to participate alone. In general, it’s more common for individuals to come to our courses alone. Every participant pays the course fee. ‘Practice subs’ are provided by us when required.
Can I bring my partner as a practice sub?
Practice subs are only required in a few of the courses, in in these cases they’re provided by us. If you want to come together, you’ll both take part as paying, practicing participants.

I’ve booked a course. Will I receive more information before the course?

If your course is coming up soon and you haven’t received an information email or still have questions on course content or schedule, you can contact the course instructor directly. You can find the contact details of your course instructor on the course description page.
