BDSM Beyond Binary – Introduction to medical and clinical play
This 2.5-hour workshop offers a broad introduction to the wide range of possibilities within clinic and medical play. The focus is on understanding selected concepts, practices, tools, and dynamics rather than specializing in a single technique.
Depending on the interests and consent of the group, individual topics may be explored in greater detail.
Arrival & Introduction
Welcome, introduction, outline of the workshop structure and goals.
Consent, communication, limits, and safewords as the foundation for medical play.
Scope of Medical Play
What falls under clinic and medical play?
Overview of possible practices, aesthetics, power dynamics, and roles.
Discussion of interests, experience levels, and expectations within the group.
Anatomy, Hygiene & Risk Awareness
General anatomical principles relevant to medical play.
Hygiene standards, preparation, and basic risk management applicable across practices.
Materials & Tools
Overview of common medical and clinical equipment used in play.
Handling, hygiene, and considerations for different types of tools.
Flexible Practical & Discussion Segments
Presentation and demonstration of selected practices as examples.
Space for questions, discussion, and — if desired by group consensus — deeper exploration of specific topics.
Wrap-Up & Aftercare
Closing the workshop, de-roling, and aftercare principles.
Summary, questions, and feedback.

Accessibility
People have different needs and wishes for events and rooms. Please let us know at queer@bdsm-studio-lux.de what you need to participate in an event.
In the BDSM Studio Lux course center there is an elevator accessible by 4 steps on the first floor and on the 3rd floor. There is no ramp.
Corona
Masks are compulsory at BDSM Studio Lux. Please come to the studio 15 minutes before the start of each event. Corona tests will be ready. Masks will only be removed once all participants have consensually and actively agreed. Masks must be worn in the corridors at all times.
Costs
Throughout the queer event series, the focus is on a policy of accessibility, transparency and redistribution.
The prices are calculated by the respective collectives and individuals and 90% of them go towards their work. A further 10% is used for advertising in magazines, social media and print media.
