Blood Play

From art to ritual and from medical curiosity to religious symbolism, blood holds a fascination that is both thrilling and taboo. In BDSM, blood play is an edge play practice which combines intimacy and vulnerability — but it comes with real risks. Unlike the SSC (safe, sane, and consensual) kinks, blood play is mostly practiced as RACK (risk-aware consensual kink) or PRICK (personal responsibility, informed, consensual kink) — which means that informed consent and risk-awareness are essential.

In this full-day workshop, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to explore blood play safely and responsibly. Whether you’re curious to try it for the first time or have already gathered some experience and looking to deepen your insights, this workshop provides a structured and hands-on approach to blood play and all of its captivating aspects.

Why This Workshop Is Unique

After the theoretical know-how you’ll get the chance to practice blood play techniques in a guided and supportive environment. We will start with inanimate objects (such as fruit and other safe materials), so you can explore cutting and needling techniques without risk. Once you feel confident, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned on an experienced blood kinkster who will be joining the workshop to support your learning experience. This hands-on approach allows real-time feedback and is a rare occasion to build skills and confidence under professional guidance, thus making your first steps into blood play both safe and empowering.

What You Will Learn

  • Safety first: Learn the key risks, from blood-borne diseases to wound care, and how to minimise them.
  • Negotiation and consent: How to discuss limits, pain, marks, and scars with your partner, and ensure informed, continuous consent.
  • Scene preparation: Setting up your space, equipment, and partner for safe and controlled play.
  • Aftercare essentials: Caring for yourself and your partner before, during, and after the scene.
  • Technique overview: A glimpse into different approaches — from low-impact, low-risk methods to more intense experiences, so you can match your play to your partner’s limits.
  • Cleanup and hygiene: How to safely handle and dispose of materials while keeping your scene space clean and hygienic.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for kinksters who are familiar with SSC but are new to blood play. It is not suitable for complete beginners or those without any prior BDSM experience. Regardless of your role (top, bottom, dom_me, switch, or sub) you are welcome to join as long as you understand the basics of SSC play and negotiation.

Trigger Warning: Some discussions might touch on sensitive topics, for example self-harm. Participants should be mindful of personal triggers.
