BDSM Beyond Binary – High Concept Roleplay
Those wild dreams that you thought you could never fulfill can be yours with the power of roleplaying! Byron and Lorraine break down the five pillars of roleplaying — motivation, plot arc, signifiers, ambience, and “wow factor” — so that participants can move beyond the awkwardness of improv into living their erotic dreams. Participants will be guided through exercises and receive a worksheet at the end to help them in their future play.
Roleplay can be a space to explore concepts that are otherwise unsafe to explore in real life. These topics may be upsetting or triggering for some. Please be mindful of this when deciding to take part in this workshop.
Byron
(he/him)
is a German-American with lived transsexual transition experience and identifies as gender nonconforming. A self-proclaimed “sex nerd,” Byron delights in exploring intimacy and creativity through erotic roleplay. With years of experience in roleplay hobbies like Dungeons & Dragons and medieval LARP (Live Action Roleplay), he brings a unique and playful perspective to the art of kinky roleplay.
Lorraine
(she/her)
escaped Canada to Germany in 2017. She has recently completed her PhD in Berlin, and is a founding member of the Berlin Sex Museum, whose first pop-up exhibition, “Berlin Sex Spaces,” was funded by the Berlin Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt in 2025. She writes narrative poetry, organizes the book club Sapphic Reads Berlin with her best friend Helen, and gives workshops on various topics as Capricorn Workshops.
Who can participate?

People have different needs and wishes for events and rooms. Please let us know at queer@bdsm-studio-lux.de what you need to participate in an event.
In the BDSM Studio Lux course center there is an elevator accessible by 4 steps on the first floor and on the 3rd floor. There is no ramp.
Corona
Masks are compulsory at BDSM Studio Lux. Please come to the studio 15 minutes before the start of each event. Corona tests will be ready. Masks will only be removed once all participants have consensually and actively agreed. Masks must be worn in the corridors at all times.
Costs
Throughout the queer event series, the focus is on a policy of accessibility, transparency and redistribution.
The prices are calculated by the respective collectives and individuals and 90% of them go towards their work. A further 10% is used for advertising in magazines, social media and print media.
